How do you curl your hair with a hair straightener?x?

How do you curl your hair with a hair straightener ... In detail

I have really thick hair and can never do it right!!!!How do you curl your hair with a hair straightener?x?
Firstly any one saying you can't curl your hair with straighteners are wrong! I do it all the Time and its very Simple once you get the Hang of it... i Find its much faster and creates a Softer curl than Curlers....Any ways

Preparing hair

1. Always use a good heat defence, im using Schwarzkopf Pro styling - Its ok but leaves scum all on your straighteners. There are alot of heat defencing products on the market =]

2. Section your hair,

3. Get a section of hair that is around the width of the straightener

Curling the hair

1. After getting your section hold your straighener and clamp the section at the top

2. twist your straighteners 180 degrees and slide downwards

and the twist it to the full 360 when you half way down the section

4. the faster you slide the looser the curl, the slower you slide the tighter the curl

5. spray a strong hold spray on top to hold the curl

and Well la your done =] ope this helps!!!

if this sounds a bit confusing... this is the video that taught me =]

After you wash and dry your hair you should:

Straightener:

1) Starting at roots, glide straightener through a small section of hair to soften it.

2) Clamp hair section, at root, with the straightener.

3) Turn iron upside down while hair is still clamped.

4) Pull section over top of the straightener.

5) Continue to glide the straightener through hair.

6) Right after, spray with hairspray.

*You can also get different types of curls by using bigger or smaller sections.*

I use the this method and i have thick long hair. It works good and stays if you hairspray it after you are finished.
I curl my hair loads with GHDs and it looks wicked.

Take a smallish section of hair starting from the front, place the ghds at the top and slowly slide them down the hair whilst twisting them outwards at the same time. Viola you have a curl, It takes loads of practice and ages to do all your hair. There is a film demonstrating it on youtube.
Might I suggest buying a curling iron?

There are also some straightening irons that double as a curler, is yours one of them? If it's not, then it probably isn't going to work right.

Curling irons work best. Curl in small sections since your hair is thick. It will take a while, but it won't work if you try to curl too much hair at once.
when i do it i clip my top layers up and then i get my straighteners hot but not too hot.

then i clip the top bit near my scalp but not to close and not too much hair in the straighteners then i turn the straighteners as i glide them down the strand

then i spray the curl with hairspray to hold it in place
Don't listen to the people who say you can't! It's easy I do it all the time.

1. Plug Straightener In Until HOT.

2. Start In The Middle Of Your Hair And Twist To The Top.

3. You Will See Extra Hair At The Bottom, So You Need To Pull Down While Still Twisted, Then Twist To The Top Again.

Follow this link and it'll show a celeb with that hair
Okay, I have thick hair and this is what I do.

The only problem is I have GHDs which are ideal for curling.

1. Open the straighteners

2. Wrap your hair around one of the open bits. (Where it's hot)

3. Close

4. Hold

:D
You really can't...I know there are straighteners that say you can curl your hair with them, but basically all you can do is flip your hair under at the ends. If you want real curls, you need to use a curling iron.
I have GHDs and they are fab, but as long as you have a straighteners that are really hot probably can curl with them too, this webiste is good for a demonstration http://www.kissandmakeup.tv/2007/09/kiss/a>

Good luck :)
There are loads of videos on youtube showing you how to do it, its hard to explain how to do something like that without being able to show you. So I suggest you head to youtube.......... I do it with my GHD's its so much easier and faster than curling tongs
You could plait it wet into lots of slender braids then run the straightener down them.

Used to do it with the iron when I was young %26amp; trendy - you get lovely pre-raphaelite waviness!

Wow, man............;-)
You don't. A straightener STRAIGHTENS hair. IF you want to curl your hair you need to use a curling iron.
Spin around whilst you are doing your hair.
go on video jug for a demo how
you go and buy Curlers or straighteners will burn your hair
Are you stupid..curl hair with straightners,i thought they were curling tongs???
