I want to buy a Silver Bullet hair straightener, what is the difference between the President and Manhatten.?

As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

=== Tips for buying professional hair appliances ===

Do NOT buy professional hair appliances from unauthorized places like amazom.com, eBay, Target, Walmart, etc. Because if you do, manufacturers will refuse to honor the warranty. Buy from licensed places like salon, licensed professional beauty stores like Folica.com, Ulta.com, West Coast Beauty Supply Inc. etc

  • I was thinking of buying Torlen Professional Hair straightener. ?

I was thinking of buying Torlen Professional Hair straightener. Who ever has used it before will you recommend it for anyone? The lady in the store says that it is solid ceramic and it also has termaline crystals in it as well. It goes up to 410 degrees. Is that good? I was thinking of buying Torlen Professional Hair straightener. ?
ceramic straighteners are always good.I was thinking of buying Torlen Professional Hair straightener. ?

What is the best hair straightener now in 2008?

the ghd is very popular but that is a big result of all the advertising.. the chi ionic is good too... and a new one on the markert the godess made by vidal sassoon is fantasic its on its way up its a steam straightner and it puts moisture back into the hair and u can pick them up for around $150-$200 a third of the price of the ghd. im a hairdresser and we test alot of products in my salon and i can assure u the goddess will be on top of the list in no time! =)What is the best hair straightener now in 2008?
    Sedu, that's given!

It's the number one straightener on folica.com, (http://www.folica.com/appliances/straigh/a>

It does less damage, and makes your hair really soft and shiny. It's totally worth it.

^^ Reviews of the Sedu iron. (:What is the best hair straightener now in 2008?
I'd definitely be heading in either the GHD or Remington direction. Even though they cost a bit more, it's worth it so you don't do serious damage to your hair.

oh and i'd also suggest investing in some heat serum to protect your hair from heat damage.

good luck!! hope you find what youre looking for.

What is the best hair straightener?

what is the best straightener that is fast heating up, and will keep my hair straight all day. And also minimal damage to hair..

thank you for any suggestions! What is the best hair straightener?
CHI straighteners are really good and also remington wet to dry straighteners are too.

What is the best hair straightener to have?

Probably a CHI.What is the best hair straightener to have?
I use one that i got from a beauty supply store that straightens my hair from wet to dry. It has little vents on the side and it steams out the water. It saves half the time. Make sure you buy a good brand so u dont ruin your hair...=)What is the best hair straightener to have?
chi is very good, but it's pretty expensive. solaria is pretty good.. or is it solia? something like that... it's good but it's expensive. if you want something that's cheap but works well, then you should get conair.
idk a brand, but get a diffuser. they are the best for keeping your hair healthy.

    or a steam one!
paul mitchell flatiron is great! make sure you put protection on it before straightening.

Can you use a hair straightener to iron clothes when you don't have an actual iron?

It won't catch fire, an iron is even hotter than hair straighteners, why would anybody think they're too damaging to use on clothing when you put your hair through them which is much more delicate? There are some crazy people around. But i doubt it would straighten your clothes out much unless as somebody suggested, you were ironing your socksCan you use a hair straightener to iron clothes when you don't have an actual iron?
Frankly I wouldn't, but I suppose you could. They both have metal plates that heat up, and it is called a straightening iron or a flat iron so....

Try a lower heat first, just to be safe because I'm not sure about the temperature differences.

Cool idea, though. Can you use a hair straightener to iron clothes when you don't have an actual iron?
Well i don't think it would be advisable...

However I have done this to dollar bills before. lol

I did it once when i was in a hurry . It does'nt work very well though because you cant reach to all the creases. I wouldnt recommmend it just get an iorn there not too expensive.
I think you could if you had to. Just make sure there isn't any product residue left on the straightener...that would suck to get it on your clothes. :)
lol nope they could catch on fire. answer mine?

yeah but be careful.don't have hair staightenter on too high.!;)
    No:

I have thick, frizzy out of control hair and every straightener ive tried doesnt work. My hair is also really bad in humidity! What it the best hair straightener?
i have the same kind of hair and this hair straightener works great for me:

    http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productD/a>

its not too expensive and it gets to 400 degrees

as long as you use the right products and straighten your hair thoroughly in sections i dont see why any hair straightener that isnt complete crap shouldnt work for you. but this one will for sure.

also, here are the products i use for my frizzy out of control hair and where to get them:

You should invest on a T3 flat iron,it 's been dropping on the price and it will not damage your hair.

Or if you can afford, definitely GHD !

Most professional hairdresser are using it to straight their client's hair .

Trust me on this one ,Good luck.

Hmmm well my hair is pretty frizzy, but I have a really nice conair one that gets really hot in only 30 seconds and it gets the job dome every time for me :D

But then again I have rather thin hair, so I don't know if it would work for you as well.

My straightener was really cheap, so if you are on a low budget, then I find it works great
Invest in GHD's, and also some heat defence spray and some straightenng mist.

The mist will help your hair stay straight and will tame it prior to straoghtening.

Use heat defence before straightening to protect the condition of your hair aswell.

I would use a straightening, anti-frizz shampoo to begin with so the frizz is reduced to start with aswell.
CHI's get really hot and their ceramic so they don't burn your hair as bad and leave is silky.

But if you don't want to spend that much I have a GVP. It gets just as hot as CHI and has ceramic plates. It looks kinda like one too.

It even says ';compared to CHI'; on the box

they have them at SALLY';S BEAUTY. that's where i got mine!

    hope this helps!
Chi !!! It is magic, one time through my hair and its straight all day!

The one i got was the red and black one, 2 inch ceramic one. I got it the cheapest at amazon.com I only spent $ 100.

The official name, so you can find it online is : Farouk CHI GF1539 Turbo Big 2 Inch Ceramic Flat Iron Hair Straightener.

Its amazing, I swear by it.
Most expensive is the best. Try using SunSilk products for hydration, straightening, or flattening. If used often, it works well. Also, before and after you straighten your hair be sure to use a de-frizzer oil. Currently, I'm using Silk Elements glossing polish..works like a charm.
go to sally's beauty supply, try a chi, or even generic chi works just the same, i got my last year for $80.00. if you don't want to spend that much, a wet to straight works really well too. believe me! just never straigthen when it's wet even though it's called wet to straight, and never go over temp. 20
The Remington T-Studio Wide Plate Straightner with Tourmaline is what works the best and heats up instantly and the best part is its only 40 bucks at target or walmart this straightner is worth it it also lasts forever...

    i use ';Kenneth's iron it';

with a chi straightener it works well and my hair is never frizzy and it controls humidity
those expensive Straighteners by ';GOLD'; you can get them at any Beauty supply store but there over $100
GHD'S Definitely; i had exactly the same problem but as soon as i brought these i was so happy and chuffed with them you cant beat them there amazing.
    vidal sassoon

    chi.

    its great.

or wet to straight is what i use.

its cheaper but i found to have good results with my hair
    ghd
    GHD or FHI :]
Get a Ceramic one. They straighten better and don't damage your hair as much!
Try a Chi, they may be 150$ but they are way worth it, I have the same kind of hair.

    It works awesome for me!
    chi it is really good
i'd like to know that one too... and one that isn't too pricey?

Where to get a hair straightener?

I just cut my hair pretty short, and my hair straightener is too wide so it makes it a pain to straighten it. I want the nicest one I can get thats a little narrower and will do the least damage on my hair for around $40. any suggestions? also with my short, when i curl it, should I use my one inch barrel or a smaller one?Where to get a hair straightener?
I say save up for a really good one.

go to www.folica.com, they have the best, highest quality flat irons around. If not, then go to sally's beauty supply, my friend got one there that is a professional model for like $35.

Its best to just save up and get a good high quality one, it will be less damaging to your hair and save you money in the long run!

    - I recommend Sedu- its like $80-90, not that bad. The CHI is good too but its like $120-150

%26amp; 1'' is the best size- you can straighten, curl and flip with that size.

but, if you have a 3/4 size, that will work too, and make tighter curls but I hear that its harder to straighen with that size...

here is this link, she has short hair but uses a 1''

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLMpNT0wI/a>

she also has like 3 other hair videos that are quite helpful...

%26amp; this might help, she has longer hair but I think she talks about size too...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k57daS_c_/a>

%26amp; in this other one, someone asks here about $50 hair irons, its towards the middle-end so, just wait for it...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZF3ymVCw/a>

%26amp; and these might help too...

    http://www.squidoo.com/chi-flat-irons

Best wishes %26amp; good luck! :)

PS...I might have not mentioned this, but im currently looking for a good one too(its between the Sedu and the CHI right now..) and I found this site:

    http://www.flatironreviews.com/

didn't do much help for me but it might help you...

and you ment curling with curling irons, didn't you?

Im sorry, I thought you ment curling with a flat iron!

yea, a 1'' is too big- try 1/2'' or 3/4''- best advice on that is to go with the small barrel because it makes tighter curls which last longer but if you want looser ones, then you can just curl bigger sections at a time and loosen them up with your fingers

and go to youtube -some people have really good videos on doing hair and make up.

... sorry about that, but I was like, 'yay, another person who curls their hair with a flat iron...'

but hey, you learned sumthing new, huh?

lol...Where to get a hair straightener?
revlon makes a one inch that is really good and heats up fast. it looks like the CHI straightener but much cheaper! you can find one at target for about 35$ or around that price range. Good Luck!!! o and you should use a 3/4 inch any larger would look disporportionate
i dont know if the sell them in america but there one called babyliss, staighten as you dry, theres one for short hair and loong hair..the link below is what it looks like http://www.justbeautifully.co.uk/Babylis/a>
you can get a smaller straightener pretty much anywhere, try Target. Any will do damage to your hair but getting gold ceramic plates will make it shinier.

With short hair you should use a smaller curling iron. My hair is past my shoulders and I still can't use a 1'; iron.
don't go to walmart or target. they sell crap.

go to sally beauty supply. you will get higher quality products. look for ceramic or porcelain. i prefer 1 inch as it is versatile, but companies make them as small as 1/2 inch.

    good luck!
    Folica.com, great selections and reviews

What is the best hair straightener?

Hi, im looking for a really good straightener. My hair is long and wavy-curly and thick. The straightener i use doesn't straighten well and the second i go outside it gets curly again.

Any answers are appreciated, thanks :)!What is the best hair straightener?
GHD Is really good. What is the best hair straightener?
a croc, i'm pretty sure you can get them on the internet.

I use croc's in the salon.

they get up to 450 degrees, and have titanium plates.

you will only have to go over the hair once.

i use it all the time on my ethnic clients and people with crazy curly hair.

they run about 130$ but they are worth it, because if you get a cheap one its going to not come with a warranty and will probably break.
    GHD is just fantastic.

My cousin has long thick curly hair, i personally think her hair is beautifully, but when she straightens it, with the GHD it cuts the process in half, and with one swipe its straight.

My hair is thin wavy and long, and this does an amazing job on my hair to. It can work for everyone, and i would recommend this to ANYONE!
well my mom was born with long natural very curly hair and i am going to school for cosmetology and i would have to say that the ceramic straighteners are the best and they are better for the hair they dont damage it as much as the other do. and they put shine in your hair. depending on how much your willing to spend but wal-mart does sell some good ceramic ones that work really good. my mom got one for christmas and she LOVES IT!
SEDU is the way to go I had one for 2 years and not only did it straighten my hair but it didnt break it or make little frizzies at the top of my head and it made it shinier and softer too I would spend the $200 for another one in a heart beat WAY BETTER than chi chi burns your hair off
i have med wavy curly hair that curls when i go outside too.the only one i've found to work is maximus.it along with the sleek smooth system works wonders for me.
You can find helpful information about the best hair straighteners and where to find them for the lowest prices at http://www.topstraighteningiron.com.
definitely chi i have it...it works really good it heats up fast...and it straightens fast also it doesnt damage ur hair like the other straighteners...u shuld giv it a try...u wont regret it!!!
    Chi.

    What are you talking about?

What is a good hair straightener that works good on thick wavy hair?

A CHI is great I have one and it is the BESTWhat is a good hair straightener that works good on thick wavy hair?
what you need to do is get a chi turn it to med hi temp spay on some heat protecter spray and part your hair i n the style you want it in then with the part in place th\ake it into sections of four and with the sections of fouf take small peices and flat iron it out aa way for you to get a chi way cheaper is to look on craigslist or the pawn shop if you dont like getting used stuff you might spend a bout a hundred dollarsWhat is a good hair straightener that works good on thick wavy hair?
Sedu! I have very thick wavy hair and CHI straightners don't work very good for me, my sedu straightner works better than any one i've ever used!! You can get one on folica.com they run about 100 dollars a little more expensive maybe, but its def worth it!
a CHI is one of the best straighteners out there its a little on the pricey side but its worth it. -- And if you part your hair into sections it gets it a lot smoother.

Hey I'm a 15 year old girl wanting to buy a great hair straightener.?

My hair is only a little bit coarse and kind of short so I want a straightener that will leave it pin-straight and silky smooth. I'm considering the Conair infiniti nano 1';. Will this straightener do the job?Hey I'm a 15 year old girl wanting to buy a great hair straightener.?
Most straighteners will do the job but its how painful and well you want to the job done. I used to have a pretty good straightener, it was a Conair (I forgot what the specific name was though, but it was red and works from wet to dry) which was pretty good. But now I have a Chi and its just awesome (plus it doesn't even pull my hair out!). I split the cost with my sister and my step sister so i didnt have to pay the 29382457039267 dollars worth.Hey I'm a 15 year old girl wanting to buy a great hair straightener.?
ok i am also 15, and i hav extremely thick, curly hair.

i have to say the best straightener EVER is the chi. it straightens my hair in 3 layers, which is a nearly impossible feat. the conair infiniti took 7 layers, which will show you the difference. the chi is a little pricey, but worth it!! it will last you forever, and theres a really good warranty behind it. it also leaves your hair smmoth, unlike some starighteners that will lieave it frizzy! i would also suggest a smoothing cream with your straightener to help proect against heat damage, %26amp; split ends, %26amp; keep your hair straight. along with the chi straightener, there are MANY products made by chi that will do just that. (although i would ask the person who cuts your hair for suggestions on what kind of smoothing serum to use, as you dont want anything that will make your hair greasy, just soft %26amp; smooth!)

    hope i helped!

    good luck! =]
remember w/ straightners you get what you pay for! if its cheap its rly not going to be that good for ur hair..it will burn it more than straighten. %26amp; then product sticks to it. i have a chi works very well, i have an HAI %26lt;3 but my product sticks to it%26amp; hardly anything sticks to the chi. i also have a jilbere tourmaline w/ the red plates from sallys %26amp; it works good to. they all heat up to 400 +. always use heat protectant.conair isn't a very good iron.any iron from walmart sucks.%26amp; it might do the job if u run it over ur hair a few times.
I use the Babyliss Pro straightner. It does the job perfectley and my hair stays straight for about 4 days. It's great and I would reccommend it to everybody. They sell these straightners at your local beauty supply store or retail store. Check it out online. Plus, the straightner is big and gets a large part, so the job gets done faster. Hope this helps
Chi and Sedu are the best (from my experience). They are more expensive than department store ones, since they actually WORK. It's like getting a perm everyday. haha

    Cheapest chi I could find:

    http://www.amazon.com/Farouk-CHI-Inch-Ce/a>
If you want to buy a great Straightener... Save your money and buy a chi. They are stupidly expensive, but oh so worth it. Go for the one inch plates in whatever you get.

Whatever you choose to get, be sure that it has ceramic plates.
i suggest the corioliss. i have one it was about $80. it lefaves my hair soft, smooth, and not dry or frizzy. my friend has MAJORLY curly hair and it make her hair poker straight.

    http://www.corioliss.com/

    btw, im 13 almost 14.
    I'm 15 too!!! :]

I just bought a flat iron about 3 months ago. (best thing EVER!!)

I saved up and got a Sedu. (it works sooooooo well, i'm not kidding!!! You'll love it!!!! ;] )
im not sure about the one you mentioned above, but id definitley reccommend a Sedu, they work great for everyone.
I recommend using one that is ceramic because my hair is the same way and ceramic hair straightners that get really hot work super well if you have thick hair as well.
Chi, Conair, Coriolis (or something like that)
uhm well i have a t studio and it works great for me

also cheap and goes up to 400 degrees
    conair will definitly work
    CHI hair straighteners are amazinggggggg(:
yeah but if you really want a goood straightener get the CHI it works amazing!!

Who here has ever had best resolts from conair- hair straightener?

conair, i don't know if it's the best or what so i want you guys to give me the best of advise you even know that might help me with the hair problems, thanks.Who here has ever had best resolts from conair- hair straightener?
i use a conair straightener and it works fine.

if your hair is really thick, it won't work.Who here has ever had best resolts from conair- hair straightener?
I personally hate my Conair straightener. It took forever to straighten and left my hair looking like straw, but I have really thick curly hair so it may work on other hair types. I personally recommend the Chi.
Conair is a horrible brand for hair straighteners.

You should get a GVP. It's around $70 from Sally's and it's as good as a Chi.
    CONAIR IS THE WORSSSTTT!

chi is expensive but well worth it.

    conairs do nothing.
I like my conair flat iron.ONLY BECAUSE I HAVE TO STRAIGHTEN MY HAIR FIRST WITH ANOTHER IRON!!!!!!!. Does nothing.

Are you allowed to bring a hair straightener in your carry on when traveling by plane??

And hair dryers? Are you allowed to bring a hair straightener in your carry on when traveling by plane??
i believe so, but go to the specific airlines' website to make sure. Are you allowed to bring a hair straightener in your carry on when traveling by plane??
Yes I took a curling iron and a flat iron in my carry on bag. The security guy made fun of me though haha!
i dont think so and i may end up eing confenscated things that make heat arent usually allowed (especially now) and it wouldnt make it throught the meadle detector anyway so they would end up going through your personal things

I have seen this AD on TV about a hair straightener, it has a heating element and a brush together, ?

What kind of hair straightener do you use?

Joico K-Pak Straightening Balm. It straightens and conditions. What kind of hair straightener do you use?
None. I love my naturally curly hair just the way it is. I don't feel a need for a change. What kind of hair straightener do you use?
Organic root stimulant hair relaxer cos it work.
    Flat iron it's hip
I use cerarmic straightener, it does not damage your hair as much, and gets really hot for thick hair, it is a little pricy but, it works well, last long, just don't use hair spray or mouse then straighen your hair with cerarmic straightener's cause it ruins the plaiting!
i used the Chi/Wigo for a while but they kept breaking

    my sis' still uses it

now i use a curling iron. saves me time b/c i can curl while i straighten %26amp; only use one appliance
I have a hand held straightener, but I find that a good old fashioned iron does the best job straightening my hair. Course I need a friend to help me when I do it.
    I use Conair.
    conaire i think
    wet to straight straighteners
i have got staright hair...how can you get it curled?
    i shave my head.
As you can see in my pic my hair is straight, yet is naturally very curly. I can send you a pic of that too if you'd like. To striaghten my hair I use a 1 inch pure cermic (not ceramic coated) but true ceramic flat iron. Ceramic coated irons are sold everywhere and can be purchased for 20-40 bucks, but you will get what you pay for. In the end, the coating will chip away and you will simply be straightening your hair with the metal underneath. Also, ceramic coating does not allow you to striaghten your hair while wet and does not give you the same shine. True Ceramic flat iron will run you anywhere from 80-200 bucks depending on the size. I recommend a 1 inch or 3/4 inch iron as it will really get to your roots as opposed to the bigger irons. I purchased my iron at a Kiosk in a Simon mall. If there are any simon malls near you, then there are girls doing demos right in your mall so go try it for yourself! The Maxiglide is sold at bed bath and beyond for about 80 bucks, and the Chi can be purchased at retailers nationwide. Mine was 99 bucks plus tax and it was worth every scent! Otherwise do a google search for ceramic irons and make sure you don't purchase one that is ceramic coated!

This will last you about a week and you should then wash it and condition it. Sometimes I don't wash it for 10 days and allow my own natural oils (Sebum) to condition my hair. On these days I typically just pull my hair back into a ponytail, beacause it can look too greasy if worn down. But again, do not do this everyday!

DO NOT RELAX your hair. Relaxing is a chemical service that will eventually over dry and over process your beautiful curls. I had to grow mine out, which took years and much hair loss. My mom, after 30 years of relaxing, is now wearing a wig! To this day, my hair is not as long or as thick as it was prior to relaxing.

If you want to wear your hair curly check out Missjessies.com
Chemical Straightening *will* damage your hair and for how expensive it is- it only last's about a day or two anyways. Use a flat iron hair straightener. Good ones are around $400-600 but the ones that are $40-100 work great too. I usually blow dry my hair a straighten out the waves with the straightener. It's still damaging but not as much as the chemical straightening. That and it looks a hell of alot better besides the fact that I do it pretty much every day. Hope this helps.
i use a ceramic.. its the best.. it will iron your hair and keep it looking good.. without damaging it.. but if you live in a hot/humid place try to get an anit-humidity product it helps your hair from getting bumps or even going back to the way it was without washing it
    go and get a perm!

    it will last longer

What's a good cheap hair straightener?

I'm looking to spend around $70 on a flat iron. I have somewhat think/short hair and I need the iron to give shiny/healthy looking hair.

Any suggestions? What's a good cheap hair straightener?
You can try remington they are fab and if you look on ebay they are quite cheap to pick up. They give a really good look without frizzing the hair and are cheap. They are also good for shorter hair styles. They will cost you about $25 but they are really good. What's a good cheap hair straightener?
i would just look around...but make sure its a ceramic straightener and use heat protectant. i know marshalls and TJ maxx sometimes have them

I got me a really good cheap Chi straightener from Ebay. It cost me 65.

  • When is the best time to use a hair straightener?

my hair has gotten too long for me to manage and ive started using a hair straightener. whens the best time to use it. like after i shower, should my hair be completely dry? When is the best time to use a hair straightener?
the best time you use your hair straightener is when your hair is completely dry. make sure you use a thermal protect ant spray on your hair before you apply any kind of heat on your hair ex: hair dryer, curling iron, flat Iron..ETC. that will help protect your hair from the heat and it wont damage it anymore than it already is. other wise you can use your hair straightener whenever but i wouldn't straighten your hair everyday. use a smoothing get or straightening cream in your hair when its wet then blow dry it...this well help keep your hair straighter and help with the frizz and keep it nice for a longer period of time..when your all done a shine serum works great to keep it smooth straight and adds a little bit of shine....hope this answers your question. When is the best time to use a hair straightener?
    after your hair is dry
your hair should be completely dry. if it's still wet, the point of the straightener is completely moot.

also, make sure to use a heat protector - Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide is fantastic :-)

make sure you take good care of your hair too - since you use a straightener it's a tad more damaging, so be nice to it.
you can use it when your hair is still damp, or when it is completely dry.

How much would a decent hair straightener cost??? help me please??

Ok so im going to the shops and i am willing to spend about up to $80 or $100 (Australian money) which ones are good and how much are they? i think ghd are too expensive, i have thick black hairHow much would a decent hair straightener cost??? help me please??
In the case of hair straighteners you really do get what you pay for. So don't go cheap. A good one will get the job done and last a very long time. How much would a decent hair straightener cost??? help me please??
GHD's are so worth the money. They're about $300NZ. I got one and its a life saver.

Where can i get a brand new chi hair straightener?

for cheap. and i mean a legit site, not one that will send me a knock off version. thanksWhere can i get a brand new chi hair straightener?
    http://www.beautychoice.com/landing/chi-/a>

The first one is the one i have. Its great. Lurrve the chiWhere can i get a brand new chi hair straightener?
Pretty much the only way to make 100% sure you are getting a 100% authentic CHI is to get it directly from the company's website. But that goes the same with any brand. Most the ones auctioned on ebay are real but you have to take your chances. Some beauty supply stores sell them as well. Oh by the way, the only way to tell if it is in fact a authentic CHI is to completely take it apart and look at the parts on the inside. I cringe at the thought of murdering a CHI.
I bought mine at the Regis salon near me. However, I have also seen them at JC Penney, and believe it or not, TARGET! You can order online from either JC Penney or Target, and JC Penney is offering dollars off this weekend on purchases online or in store (and the CHI is sold at any JC Penney hair salon). Check your paper for a coupon.
DON'T BUY A CHI!!! BUY A GVP FROM SALLY BEAUTY SUPPLY. i have a chi and a gvp and they are EXACTLY the same. the gvp might even be better. andit's around $60.00
    ebay?
    Ebay (great deals)

    Target.

    Wal mart (maybe)

    Or just google it online.

    Oh and amazon!

My girlfriend wants a new hair straightener ?

Okay shes got medium hair (about shoulder length) and she is happy with just about anything. i noticed there are wider straighteners than others. Any good brands and what am i looking for?My girlfriend wants a new hair straightener ?
    Awe......

    Ok.

Chi's, I've heard, are a really good brand of hair straighteners.

Whatever you do, make sure it is ceramic, or else it can damage her hair.

Go into Ulta (its a beauty whatever store) and ask a consultant for some help, I'm sure they would be glad to help.

    Hoped this helped!

Good luck!My girlfriend wants a new hair straightener ?
well chi is the best one you could get but they're anywhere from $100- to about $130

the skinner ones seem to work best for me...i use to use a remington wet to straight (which u can use if your hair is wet, kinda wet, or dry) now i use a revlon...which is wider but works good

    hopefully that helped
get the straighteners that are skinny,

get something that she can adjust the heat level,

and go with something like chi,

    they're a really great company.

(but it sounds like your girlfriend is kinda, well, demanding and spoiled, why not just loose her?)
Dont get the wider ones! Dont get cheap ones either, like the 10 dollar kinds.

for brands maybe get conair, thats what i have.

or get something that looks nice.
i have a sebastian straightener and i absolutely love it. it was really cheap, you can adjust the temperature, it works amazingly, and it doesnt damage hair as much as other ones do.
did your girlfriend ask for one?

    cuz that's pretty...well spolied.

get a skinny one with rounded edges so she can use it to straighten or curl her hair. don't get a chi or any other $100 straightners. conair one's are good, but make sure you get a skinny one.
Honey a CHI 1inch is all u need its my best tool in the salon do any thing but don't get a conair its a waste of time and money go to EBAY and bid on a CHI 1inch any where from $ 30- $120 good luck
Try a CHI but if that's out of your price range try a Bedhead. Look for the skinnier straighteners- they tend to work better.
ya go to just about any mall and get those ceramic hair straighteners. they are expensive but she well love. (they also don't burn your hair)
you can go to folica.com and get some good ones. or you can go to any beauty supply and look for the ones that are ceramic
Get her a CHI if you can afford it.

If not you can get an Le Angelique (Marshall's).

    Good luck!
can you give a price bracket? depending on how much you want to spend, the style you need will change.
She'll be so glad you got her a CHI, but it's rather expensive

Or get CONAIR, that's good too

They work pretty much the same, and to tell if there genuine.. go to the source GHDhair.com. I would suggest buying it from sephora, or ordering online from folica like I did.
there all the same jus a diff color

What's the best brand for a HAIR STRAIGHTENER?

i'm thinking of buying a good hair straightener off ebay but for a good price.

what's the best brand for one? Remington? GHD?

I've currently got a VS Sassoon , but its so crap I've used better ones!!

Any suggestions for a good hair straightener? What's the best brand for a HAIR STRAIGHTENER?
    Chameleon!

Go for Chameleon limited edition hair straightener.

    You can check specifications here:

    http://www.ironhairstraightener.com/cham/a>

The plates are built up of ceramic and tourmaline particles which are essential for having silky and healthy hair. Its all new technology and the price is $150.

Plus, there are some goodies with it.

Since the time I have been using it, I love my hair. What's the best brand for a HAIR STRAIGHTENER?
Make sure it's ceramic and if you can find it, infused with tourmaline. It will help you keep from ruining your hair. Chi, Sedu, T3

Please don't buy a cheap one, they have hot spots and scorch your hair.

Also, never go over any section more than once or twice, just go over once slowly following a comb or brush with the straightener. Also, go easy on the front of your hair, it is much more vulnerable to heat damage.

    Good Luck
    honestly,

go to a store like tj maxx or ross or marshalls! my straightner is awesome! and i had a really hard time finding a good straightner becuase my hair is very curly.

make sure the straightner goes up to 400 or 450 degrees though.

What is the best hair straightener?

i have thick curly hair. it also takes me awhile to straighten my hair and other straighteners always pull out my hair.also, what is the best product to protect from heat damage and give shine? What is the best hair straightener?
I recommend the Sedu 1'; Straightener. I recently bought it and compared to my old Conair Wet/Dry ';tourmaline/ceramic'; straightener, its amazing! It gets my hair super straight and heats up in literally 20sec. It does not snag my hair and has tourmaline, ceramic, and titanium plates which will make your hair shiny, smooth, silky. If you order from folica.com right now, you get free shipping and a FREE mini sedu revolution shortie straightener (6 inches). They have great service too. It also comes with a TWO year warranty.

If not, for only $90 you can get the ozonhair.com OZON straightener.. my friend owns it and it comparable to the Sedu but personally.. i love my sedu.

NEVER use a straightener on your hair when it's wet.. when your hair is wet, it is more prone to breakage and thats just unhealthy for your hair.

Remember to always use a heat protection spray or lotion for your hair before you flat iron it. It'll enhance your shininess as well as protect it. Fantasia Straightening Serum ,got2b crazy sleek lotion, Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray, and S-Factor Spray are all great products.

P.S Don't buy the CHI.. its poorly made and doesn't have heat temperature setting.. neither does the GHD

The remington and VS Sassoon Goddess (i think equivalent to the Conair Infiniti in the US ) Ive never tried.. so i can't give you any comments on that :)What is the best hair straightener?
    GHD's.

I have very thick way hair and ive tried at least 10 different straighteners and they are the only ones that make my hair completely straight i would highly recommend them.I use aussie miracle heat protection spray or toni and guy maximum heat defence and they both work really well for me,i also use a aussie miracle straightening serum, about the size of a 5p piece, every time i wash my hair and its enough to make my hair really smooth and shiny and my hair is a few inches past my bra strap. Also deep conditioning your hair once or twice a week helps restore the moisture that straightening takes away and leaves it really soft and smooth.
I had the same problem!! I just bought the most amazing straightener from a kiosk in the mall but I'm sure you can get it online. It's called Amika and it's good for your hair, it won't cause split ends or damaged hair because unlike almost every flat iron, this one is 100% ceramic and other straighteners may say ceramic but they still have damaging metal in them. Once I bought this one, my mom went straight out after trying it and bought it from the mall. I got mine for $90 since I could trick the worker, like most people. Get this straightener, I will never regret it! It also easily curls your hair too! I love it!!

I also have really thick wavy messy hair and it only takes about 20 minutes with this straightener to perfectly straighten it and a lot of people complimented my hair since I bought it a few months ago, and there's a lifetime warranty and guarantee!

    http://www.folica.com/brands/amika_355.h/a>

( I have the hot pink colored one. And it's 1.5 inch. )
I used to use a chi-and seriously becuase you have curly hair (our hair is prone to drying) it will dry it out, plus I had to buy 3 of them in 2 monthes cuz they break easy. So dont get one!

I got a GHD after my chi debachle and girl, its the best iron ever! I only have to run it over my curls no more than twice and they are straight and shiny! It keeps my hair straight even in rain and it doesnt make my hair smell like burnt. i love it!

For products I use Redken Align 12 (its a cream, put it on when your hair is wet) than when im straightening I use Matrix Vavoom Gold Heat Iron in control (long name I know lol) its a dry mist so it wont make your hair greasy but gives it lots of shine and protection.
Maxi Glider is the best iron.

Also pomade works well to protect, give shine, and keep hair from frizzing back up.

Works on curly, frizzy, super thick, and tightly knotted hair.
    Hair straightners damage your hair.

Could you please please answer myn?

    http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind/a>
ummm the instyler looks really awsome try it !!!! it doesnt damage or burn your hair i would so get it if i didnt already have one!!
    GHD,GVP,Sedu,Infiniti Conair.

Defenitly NOT the Chi.I've had 3 and my hairs soo thick.
I have curly hair too but my straightener gets it completely straight. Its a paul mitchell straightener. And for heat protection i use CHI straight guard.

What is the best (and least expensive) hair straightener/flat iron out there?

i am planning to get a flat iron to straighten my hair. but there are so many options out there, i don't know which to choose. which flat iron do you use -- is it well worth its price? which flat iron do you recommend that is no more than $30? i don't need a heavy duty one, since i have medium-long thin sort-of wavy hair. What is the best (and least expensive) hair straightener/flat iron out there?
Revlon is the best. there really cheap like 18 to 30 dollars and they work as good as a chi. What is the best (and least expensive) hair straightener/flat iron out there?
I am not sure that you would get the best results with one under $30 but I recommend a conair ceramic straightener/ flat iron. You can find them for under $30 but if i were you i would spend a little more on a more affective flat iron. Go to www.folica.com for a huge variety of flat iron for all different prices. They also have smoothing products that work well too. You should also buy Halo smoothing shampoo and conditioner. This well help the results! I hope this helps!
Be careful of good bargain flat irons. They will burn your hair and leave the ends cinged after many uses and your hair will look poor instead of healthy and shiney. Flat irons should not be used except for special occasions b/c of their intense heat to the hair. But if you insist on doing so, be sure and invest in one from a good salon. I bought mine from Aveida and spent around $125 but its worth it, will last a long time and in the end not be as harmful to your hair.
make sure you hair straightener is CERAMIC... its the best
Just make sure that it is a ceramic coated one. The cheaper drugstore flat irons that don't have ceramic coating are bad. If you go too cheap on a flat iron, expect it to take you longer to straighten. Cheap flat irons don't clamp together smoothly and can pull out hair as you straighten. Also, they don't heat up fast or stay heated long. If you have thin hair, avoid the big clunky ones and get a thin plated one. Test them out by taking them out of the box and use it on a strand of hair. If it glides nicely and isn't too heavy then get it. Make sure you use a hair product that protects your hair before you straighten it. Overuse can really fry your hair. Good luck!
    http://www.folica.com/BaByliss_Mini_C_r1/a>
i reccomend purchasing a chi (ceramic) flat iron. you can get one on ebay for super cheap! they come highly reccomended, and that's what i'm doing!
    revlon
I sincerely doubt that the ';best'; would be the ';least expensive';, so you are out of luck if you're expecting that. There isn't a lot of difference, it's just two pieces of metal that heat up. If you're concerned with quality, stick to a known brand like Conair.
i know the best is a ceramic flat iron that you can adjust the heat. mine is a ceramic Conaire brand and i got it at Wal*Mart for about 20 bucks........... plus tax of coarse....

Now the hard part for me is too decide wich one i really want.Good luck!
I know the feeling all too well. I have really thick, frizzy, wavy hair. I have tried everything at the stores from generic straighteners to smoothing creams. The best straightener I found is a T3 Tourmaline straightener. It makes my hair normal again. It's straight, smooth, shiny and soft. You can set the tempurature as high as 410 degrees. Unfortunately, my hair is so thick that I need it that high. The good thing is, it doesn't fry my hair. I guess it has something to do with the tourmaline crystals. As with any straightener, use a straightening cream on your wet hair before flat ironing and you will need to clean the iron after every use or your hair won't be as soft as it could be. The straightener requires a little maintenence, is a lot of money, but it works wonders. Talk to your hairdress. I had mine order one for me.
best thing is a good blow out before you straighten with a flat iron. I really like the Babyliss hair dryers they are very powerful. I also have a Babyliss hair iron that works great it is ceramic. Both of these things are pricey but they are worth EVERY dollar i wouldnt knwo what to do without them!!!

As for products i really like the ';Matrix'; line that is for smoothing hair. It is packaged in orange bottles. They are also pricey but i rely on the iron smoother and the moisture lock!

Im looking for a Flat Iron thats not very expensive and i've herd that the Chi is really good but its almost 200 dollars but others have sai that it terrible ...So other than the Chi what is a good Flat Iron? What is the best hair straightener?
I have tried about every flat iron out there.

If you care about your hair, don't get the cheap ones at the drug stores. The Conair one I used for a week completely damaged my hair and my hair will never be the same again. You are going to have to honestly spend a lot for a good straightener. The Chi is excellent, but they have a strong reputation for breaking soon after you get them. So, this is the iron I TOTALLY reccomend.

    http://www.folica.com/Solia_Tourmalin_d1…

(I normally have to go over my hair with that iron 4-5 times and it has NEVER EVER damaged my hair. I use it every other day and my hair has no damage whatsoever.)

If you want to get fancy and save more time (like i rececently did) I suggest the Sedu. The Sedu is what all the stars in hollywood use, and its a bit more $$$. I recently bought one and I only go over my hair 1-2 times. It did not damage my hair AT ALL.

    http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_d1…

If you read through the comments on that website, most of them are great. I suggest getting the irons through that website because it's fast shipment and there's a money back garuntee.

If you have any questions about anything with flat irons, please feel free to email me at nicolexo@live.com

[: Good Luck. What is the best hair straightener?
    REMINGTON

    very good and affordable
I spent $140 and bought a CHI from a local beauty supply store. One day I plugged it in and the red light never came on and it never got hot again. I am so upset. I have only had it a little over a year and I expect something that cost this much would last. The store where I purchased it won't take it back and I am afraid if I purchase another chi it will brake in year or less again. I am done with CHI, I am researching for other flat iron brands.
    WIGO.

i have my flat iron and blow dryer by them and they rock.

work so well, when i blow dry my hair 80% of the time i don't even have to straighten it. look into wigo.

i have the one i think it's by Conair and it called ';Wet To Straight'; but i never use it on the wet setting, cause you should never straighten your hair wet. Trust me it makes the oil come out of your hair and it gets all dry and frizzy.

So...idk i just thought you should know that [[:
i would say conair i use it every morning my mother does to an her hair is curly an mine is kinda wavey but a big puffer ball an the straightener works great for us it the conair wet to straight you can use iteven when your hair is wet an it cost like 40 dollars you should really check it out
    CHI is horrible

    try sedu
I've had a lot of expensive straighteners that never straightened my hair properly, but then I used a pair that belonged to my friend and they worked perfectly. They're by Remington, and quite old and maybe difficult to find, but very cheap ($30 for me) and effective.

They're Remington Hair Essentials S2013 Ceramic Variable Hair Straightener

    http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41…
You can get a Chi at Target for around $125. Saw them on sale yesterday :)
my friends mums a hairdresser and use to think ghds but theres a new one out called sakko and they are so much better..!!
    ghd's £100 but amazing!!!
Well I'm english but you might have it in the USA, the best straighteners are GHDs!!!!! They are great!
Conair and revlon are cheap and work okay.
I like the Remington Wet2Straight...it works very well on both wet AND dry hair, it's easy to use, and it is only about $30. It also has less damage than your average straightener.

    The webite's either www.remingtonproducts.com or www.remingtoncosmetics.com
haha i was just about to type the chii i have one-- its works good. idk any cheap hair straighteners that actually work but that just might be because i need a really good hair straightener because my hair is reallly reallly curly. ive seen some at this beauty store near my house that were like fifty i'm sure they work fine

I got my Solia a few years back after my Chi broke, it worked great for my hair (and my sister's hair too). The best thing is that Solia has a temperature dial (to adjust temp). Last August my sister went to a college in california, she took the Solia with her. Initially I wanted another Solia, but Jonna (my hair stylist) convinced me to get a Sedu. I did. Sedu is great!.
my chi was $130 and target sells them now.

    it is thebest
    Sedu.

I have an entire box of junk that I have bought throughout the years to straighten my hair, including other flat irons. Nothing has ever come even close to giving the results that Sedu does.

I have thick, curly hair which is prone to frizzing when it is straightened. I chose Sedu after my hair stylist used it on my hair. This really does work. It heats up quickly, and is very light and comfortable to use. I can finally straighten my hair myself and look like I came from the salon, in about 15 minutes. It does not dry, break or damage my hair in any noticable way. Best yet, my hair style last for days.
definately GHD's i love them and it's really easy to curl your hair with them as well. If you look on line you can find them for £70.
corioliss i got mine on ebay for 20 dollars its really good
    http://www.folica.com/hair_straighteners…
I am a hairdresser i have been doing hair for about 10 years now. I also have the naturally curly frizzy nappy hair. In my experiences with CHI, I've already had to send back 7 of them since i began purchasing them back in 2002. But I too have had the same problems as the general public with the iron coming on and going off. For a while, i had to turn my cord at the base certain ways just to get the light to stay on so i could smooth out my hair. Farouk charges us $20 to send the iron back and we do request that the client pay this to cover those costs. CHI is good iron overall, but I will definitely be trying other more durable flat irons.
The GHD for thick hair.. they are expensive but are well worth it.
The generic version of a chi made by GVP. only cost about $60 bucks and works great.

But the Chi is the best and you can get one on this sight for just over $100

Should I buy a hair straightener?

I have straight hair, but I like that pin straight look. I only have $40 on me and I'd like it to cost $15-25. Should I save my cash or spend it? Reasons?Should I buy a hair straightener?
    Buy a Remington Wet2Straight. It's $27 and works great!Should I buy a hair straightener?
If you only have $40 to spend, save your money. For that price all you can get is a cheap reallllly bad Conair or Revlon...i had both, they didnt do anything. if you really want a straightener, save your money for a good quality one. it will cost a lot, but on folica.com you can get some great deals! and its totally worth it. the higher-end straighteners do wonders for your hair. especially if your hair is already straight, it'll make your hair look gorgeous! if you're willing to spend a lot on an awesome straightener, i DEFINITELY recommend the Sedu! i just got one, and it turns my thick, puffy hair into pin straight, shiny hair. and it makes it softer! the sedu is amazing, definitely the best.

    good luck!
depends if u really want to start streatining your hair
i think u should... i bought one and i pretty much changed my life!!! lol jk
i have straight hair too, but i still use one.

I got mine at Sallys beauty suppy and its really good, plus it was only 30$.

they seal cheap ones in a lot of places, just make sure its ceramic, so you dont completely fry your head.
Save it. It's not worth buying a hair straightener unless you buy a nice one.
    its up to u!
I love mine! It was only 14 bucks at walmart! It heats up really fast-so it works really well and save me time... My hair has a natural wave... It was def. worth the purchase.
YOU CAN BUY A CHEAP ONE BUT TRUST ME IT WONT BE THAT GOOD YOU CAN BUY A GOOD ONE FOR LIKE $30 ALMOST N-E WHERE

What is a better hair straightener chi or sedu?

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chi's do not last long. They break way too easily. Don't waste your money, and don't listen to the one's that are telling you it's the best. Sedu is one of the best straighteners out there and it is only $100.

To purcase a Sedu at the cheapest price, go to Folica.com , scroll to the very top and click on Hair Styling. On the left hand side, there will be and A - Z brand list. Find Sedu, click on it, and everything else from there is self - explanitory.

For more information on a Sedu, you can go to sedubeauty.com.

I would also recommend using a 1 inch instead of 1 1/2 inch, because the 1 1/2 doesn't do curls very well.

    It reaches 410 degrees.

Good luck! What is a better hair straightener chi or sedu?
I'd highly recommend a Chi, what do you see professionals using? And if your ditsy and drop it a lot its going to break! But so will a glass!

I've used many brands and after purchasing a Chi at a salon wouldn't go back to anything else.

You can purchase one at folica.com and hey if it breaks save your stuff, let them know, and have a replacement sent to you...

i am leaving for taiwan. Can i have a hair straightener in my luggage and pass singapore's custom?
YES. one set of hair straightener for own use is free from tax ( Singapore / Taiwan ).

However . IF THE HAIR STRAIGHTENER from Singapore usually is AC 230 V. you unable to use in Taiwan AC 110 V. ! beware of VOLTAGES ISSUE .

check the AC supply Voltage from the hair straightener ? before carry to Taiwan ! * from the instructions manual or there must be some info at the unit . AC 230 V or some model able to switch to AC 110 V *

Taiwan AC wall Socket is also total difference with Singapore , if the unit able to use for AC 110 V. you need to get Multi Plug for that *

if the unit from Taiwan , is AC 110 V. you cant use in Singapore !Can i have a hair straightener in my luggage and pass singapore's custom?
Yes of course you can . Did that before !
Yes, I brought along my hair curler on my trip to Italy.

Help me find a hair straightener?

I've had a really sucky hair straightener for over a year now and I think it's about time i buy a new one. What brands of hair straighteners are good, and where can I get it? No conair pleeeaase. Should I buy on from my hair salon? thnx !Help me find a hair straightener?
Yes buying one from a salon gives you alot better chances in finding a good one. It has to be ceramic for it to even be halfway decent. Ionic ones are good too. The brand depends on how much you want to spend. The GHD straighteners is the best youll ever find. Theyre amazing, but they start about $115 and go up. i just bought mine for $160. But they should last years. CHI straighteners are bomb too, they r just one step down from the GHD. Conair is not my favorite, but theyre not the worst I suppose. The porcelain series r pretty good for the price. Make sure that you use a heat protectant when you use them though and make sure you dont let it get TOO hot, or it will just fry your hair. Good Luck!Help me find a hair straightener?
conair is not good and dont buy them from a salon they will overcharge.. get on ebay either get a chi or a babyliss pro

i went to beauty school and my mother has been a beautician for over 25 yrs i really reccomend you those two brands..

dont buy conair they arent very good
if you want a good straightner but don't want to kill your pocket, I would purchase a videl sassoon, the answer. The answer has 3 different types for you hair and is about $25 and it works wonderful. I would say save your 100 and get this. It works fine. I love it found at wal-mart wal-greens and other such stores
My straightener is brand PHI, it works pretty good, and i payed about 60 dollars for it.

Or you can buy a Revlon straightener which is good too.
get a chi. they're really expensive ($100+) but they're so worth it. i use mine all the time.

you can get them from any proffesional.

What is the best hair straightener?

I have had a chi for four years and it has broken, so I'm looking for a new hair straightener.

I will pay up to $200, so I am not looking for anything cheap please. I have very curly but fine hair, so I would like a hair straightener that doesn't leave my hair flat, I would perhaps like it to give it some volume.

So please give me some ideas!!What is the best hair straightener?
GHD's are the best they're about æ‹¢100 but i don't know how much that is in dollars, sorry. After my GHD's broke and my mum refused to get me a new pair i got the Babylis pro 230 straightners which are really good and were only about æ‹¢50, again sorry it's not dollars. They're also better than GHD's becuase the have a temp dial whereas GHD's have to just be at 230 degrees all the time. What is the best hair straightener?
I too have really fine but insanely curly hair. If I want it straight but with volume (not the flat look you get using a straightener) I blow dry it with a round brush. It takes some practice because your arms/hands don't naturally twist the right way to do it (at least mine don't) but I get really good volume and my hair is pretty straight. If it has any kinks (which it usually does) I actually use a curling iron instead of my straightener to iron it out.
ghd, they heat up really fast and you can use them to curl or straighten your hair and they come with a dvd to show you the best way of using them:) also your hair will stay in place for agessssssss

    http://www.ghdhair.com/
Get another Chi. My hair is very curly and coarse too. The Chi is the ONLY one I use. Plus the last three hairstylists I tried only used Chi's too. I think Bed, Bath, and Beyond sells them a little cheaper than other places.
CONAIR makes a very good hair straightener!-- the temp goes uptil like 390 degrees Fahrens--- and it can be used on even super curly hair!

and its like $60-80 i guess--- its is cheap as per wat is ur budget but its very good!
the CHI wors wonders and also

its 219$ but its so awsome!!!!!!
My sister has a Revlon one and it works like a charm and it's unbreakable. She dropped it to test it out and it still worked without a dent on it! Purchased at CVS!
Probably a Chi. Urs stood for 4 years. I remember some straighteners I had like Conair which stood only for like a year.

    hi!

i just bought this straightener, and it works great.

this is the first time i've ever used a straightener.

on my straightener, there's a on and off switch button.

so does that mean that i don't have to unplug it after i'm done with the straightener?

or do i have to unplug it?

thx very much!Testarossa by par conair hair straightener?
you don't have to, but you definitely should because if it gets wet while its plugged in (even if it's off) you will get a lovely fireworks show when you turn in on. it also still takes in electricity, so you will be wasting electricity.

    i love it

What hair straightener should I buy?

=)What hair straightener should I buy?
It depends on how curly your hair is naturally, and how much money you are willing to spend on one. They can be as cheap as $20 as expensive as $400. I wouldn`t bother on the really cheap ones though, because you usually get what what you pay for. My hair is naturally curly, and i straighten my hair every day, and the straightener i use is a `high lift` one, and is really good, because you can change the temperature of it, and it gets really hot, so it works really well, and makes your hair look naturally straight. here is a link to its website: http://images.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http://www.muimports.com.au/images/Hi_Lift_100Solid_Ceramic.JPG%26amp;imgrefurl=http://www.muimports.com.au/product_straighteners.shtml%26amp;h=243%26amp;w=300%26amp;sz=7%26amp;hl=en%26amp;start=5%26amp;um=1%26amp;tbnid=EHKmv3AELrbpfM:%26amp;tbnh=94%26amp;tbnw=116%26amp;prev=/images%3Fq%3Dhigh%2Blift%2Bceramic%2B%2B%2Bhair%2Bstraightener%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26hs%3DAVb%26sa%3DG

    i think it costs around $200- $250

    hope iv helped!

    good luck : D

oh, and also, make sure you use a heat protecter, or you will burn your hair and make it really dry and give you split ends... iv made that mistake before lolWhat hair straightener should I buy?
Any as long as it is accrilic (protects your hair). The longer your hair the thicker one you need.

And remember to always put a styings product in your hair before straitening. Protects it from burning.
Definately use a Remmington Wet 2 Straight. If your hair is REALLY bad, put it on 30 (highest) and use it on dry hair. Also, so that you dont damage your hair, use a heat protector spray or Tressemme straightening gel ment for heat use.
I have a remington wet to dry that I swear by. I think it's better than a Chi and you can get it for like 20 bucks at walmart.

    :D

    I know I'm cheap
CHI .. It is kind of high but its worth the money!! =]
i would invest in a good one that will last a long time and that you love. i bought a cheap one and it doesnt work at all. my hairs not even that thick and it takes me like a half a hour to do like half my hair. hope i helped!
ghd or even a silver bullet

What is the best product to use on frizzy curly extremely thick hair? when using a hair straightener?

Because I have the hair you're referring to, I can tell you in all honesty, because I've shopped around and have tried just about every salon hair product out there. I swear by, and will use nothing other than, Matrix sleek look shampoo, conditioner, and straightening cream (apply before blow drying). You should heed my advice and do yourself some good sister-friend. Get a CHI flat-iron and you will be in business, you will never question your hair ever ever ever again. Good luck. I hope you make the RIGHT choice. Don't buy the iron spray as was later suggested by one of our friends down there. It's a waste of money and leaves your hair looking tres lifeless. Just the shampoo the conditioner, the styling cream, and maybe the smoothing serum to protect your hair after you flat iron it. You'll be looking beautiful! What is the best product to use on frizzy curly extremely thick hair? when using a hair straightener?
try Biosilk therapy syrum..or try CHI their both by farouk systems and they ccontain keratin which helps build strength in your hair and they make it soooo shiney. What is the best product to use on frizzy curly extremely thick hair? when using a hair straightener?
herbal essencies: dangeriously straight pin straight foaming mousse
    frutis sleek and shine
I agree with half the people who have answered, Matrix is a really great product for frizzy, dry hair. The Sleek and Smooth products smooth out your hair very nicely. There is a product called Iron Smoother that you spray on the hair as you straighten it. Matrix can be epensive, but if you are looking to spend less then I would suggest John Frieda Frizz Ease hair serum, it keeps your hair smooth once you straighten it.
Matrix has a line of products for frizzy or curly hair.
Hey you should try using Nexxus products like the humectress conditioner, works very well-I have extremely curly hair and their products help define my curls and moisturize my hair-and the prices are reasonable

you may want to take a look at this website...its just as good if not better...

In Poland, can I use a 500-1600 watt converter there for laptop, hair dryer, and hair straightener?

If it helps, the brand is Jensen. I just don't know if the watts match up or if I'll blow a fuse if it's wrong. In Poland, can I use a 500-1600 watt converter there for laptop, hair dryer, and hair straightener?
The question is imprecise. The Jensen converter works for appliances of 500 to 1600 Watts power (e.g., it would not work for a freezer). The power is specified on the appliance itself. The actual conversion refers to voltage - in the US it is 110-120 Volts, while in Poland and the rest of Europe - 220-230 Volts. For example, if you travel to Poland from the UK, you do not need a voltage converter, just a plug adapter. In Poland, can I use a 500-1600 watt converter there for laptop, hair dryer, and hair straightener?
The laptop probably only needs a $2 plug converter, most of these will run off of 100-250 volts. But check your documentation to be sure.

Hair dryers, you can get ones that have a switch to switch between 120 volts and 240 volts. I have a hair dryer like that. The same with hair straightener. Then you just need the $2 plug converter.

I'm saying, you really don't want to buy an expensive converter, and lug it all around, it is heavy. It is probably cheaper to get appliances that run off both voltages. Or just buy new ones in Poland.

    .
Well I think you need a different type of plug there they have plugs that look like this: take this web sight and Goggle it good luck

    www.djhardwares.com/euandampl.html - 29k

    Poland 220V 50Hz E, F %26amp; G European plugs:YP-21, YP-22, YP-23, YP-24
so im polsh and the plugs are differnt to the one in poland

you would have to buy an adapter

    http://macunaima.fm.interia.pl/uk_pl3g.j/a>

this web site shows the plugs in poland

so i hope you get the idea what it is like
If you flying from USA you have to buy adapter becouse convertor on the voltage in the USA is 110-120 V but In Poland they have 220-230V .
    Probably

  • Are you allowed to take a hair straightener onto an airplane?

since things have gotten so strict i dont know what im allowed to take anymoreAre you allowed to take a hair straightener onto an airplane?
Yes you can definitely take a hair straightener onto an airplane! Are you allowed to take a hair straightener onto an airplane?
yes you can. here is the link to the TSA with a list of prohibited and acceptable items: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/p/a>
of course you can! some flights even have little chargers at your seat, so feel free to make an attempt at straightening your hair right there if you so desire!
Assuming you mean something electronic like a flat iron and not liquid like a straightening serum then yes! If it's liquid it must be in travel size quantity.
I went to Italy last year and I didn't have a problem with taking hair straighteners on the plane.

I'm looking for the perfect hair straightener that is not to $$. What brand is the best?

Of all straighteners, I would probably recommend the CHI. It retails for about $159.95 but you can get it at beautychoice.com for only $78.95. If that's too much, you might also want to consider the GVP. I don't know where to purchase this straightener but it's basically the generic version of a CHI and I hear it works just as good and has a temperature setting.I'm looking for the perfect hair straightener that is not to $$. One time I went to the dollar store and i saw a bead head brand straigtner for 50 bucks (bed head is really good)I'm looking for the perfect hair straightener that is not to $$. What brand is the best?

After i went to italy and greece my chi hair straightener wont work..?

wheni got back from italy i tried to use my chi hair straightener it wouldnt work. idk what happened when i used it over seas. is there any way to fix it?After i went to italy and greece my chi hair straightener wont work..?
it's probobly because of the cord.

when your in a different country,

[depending on where you bought your chi]

the straightener won't work. it has to do something

with the certain watts the country has in a unit or something

like that. thats why salons need to buy specific straighteners

so that the cord/plug will work

Where can i buy a Chi hair straightener (at a store NOT online)?

I really like the cheetah print one as well as the hot pink and neon green ones!

Try Sally's or a salon if not do you have a friend that does hair if so they can get you one at the supply store, or you could ask your stylist if they could pick you one upWhere can i buy a Chi hair straightener (at a store NOT online)?
Just about any hair salon should have a chi, just call around and ask if they use the chi products. I know I live in Michigan, and my hair salon Carriage Clippery is only too happy to sell Chi products
i think you may be able to get one from sally's. the carry just about everything and if not try calling the chi people and try and get a purchasing loation.
Ulta, target, sally beauty's supply. A lot of ofther place should have them also. Hair salons.
Go t the chi website and try locations or stocklists.

If you cant find anything try 'contact us' give them a ring and ask them where to go!

    Good luck xx

  • Is an electric hair straightener healthier for your hair or is it just as healthy as the other kind?

well they both damage your hair but if u ue an electric use a protecter sprayIs an electric hair straightener healthier for your hair or is it just as healthy as the other kind?
another way is to use a hair dryer, and a round brush. Keep hair damp that you haven't proceeded onto.

I have a hair straightener but it wont straighten all of my hair. How do I make it straighten?

It just keeps it curly all the time. : (I have a hair straightener but it wont straighten all of my hair. How do I make it straighten?
    honesly its really depends

my hair used to do that too.

it just took me a lot of time and experimenting. my hairs insane and never listens to me.

to get it soft and strait the way i like it is alomst impossible for me.

I have to take a shower at like noon, straiten it at 5:30 then sleep on it and its good by the next day.

usually i can do that. so i take a shower as soon as i get home, [about 3pm] let it dry, straiten it before bed, but dont la down untill its cooled of so it wont get all wavy while i sleep.

also i use herbal essences dangerously strait shampoo condtioner and other products by them.

and dont put too much stuff in it. it can kill your hair.

hope that helps! =]I have a hair straightener but it wont straighten all of my hair. How do I make it straighten?
Ok one way you could do it is after you shower brush through it and blow dry it right away so it doesn't have time to do its natural curl. Try leaving your straightner plugged in for longer than you normally do so it will heat up more, and make sure it's at it's highest setting. And when you straighten your hair go slower and go over areas more than once,

GOOD LUCK, hope it helps :)
well, if it doesn't work on you, then maybe you should go to hair salon that you can get on 88db, and straighten your hair....hope this helps

Why is a ceramic hair straightener considered better than a non-ceramic hair straightener?

Traditional hair straightener's heat, penetrates hair from the outside-in, exposing hair to moisture loss and damage. Ceramic Flat iron's far-infared heat penetrates hair quickly, heats hair evenly from the inside-out, straightens hair in a fraction of the time with superior results and with far less damage. Why is a ceramic hair straightener considered better than a non-ceramic hair straightener?
Its all just a scam to get more money out of you. It isn't really ';ceramic'; as they claim it to be. Ceramic and non-ceramic straighteners are the same. Why is a ceramic hair straightener considered better than a non-ceramic hair straightener?
It evenly distributes heat so that you don't burn your hair.

    a wet and straight straightener
uhm i dont know the name of it but i use the ';remington wet to dry'; one and i have very thick hair and i think its only in the 40 $ range ..well hope i helped
i just bought a wet to sragith straigthtener and i have very thick hair and it works wonders and u can us it on damp or dry hair!!!!
any straightener if u use this trick, as u pull the flat iron down the stand, hold i thin tooth comb underneath the flat iron, i have really thick curly hai and it works :))
wet and straight straightners cause more damage to your hair than regular straighteners.

you should avoid straightening hair when wet, if possible.

i have thick hair, and this is the straightener that works great for me..

I need the best ceramic hair straightener?

I have been looking at Sedu, FHI, GHD and Solia... which is the best or is there a better one out there ... pirce is not an issue ... i have think curly kinky hair ... if you have a specifc model please leave it here as well ... im looking for a higher ned straightener because i feel it will give the best results.I need the best ceramic hair straightener?
I LOVE my Le Angelique straightener. It doesn't damage your hair very much, and it smooths your hair, so there isn't any frizz. A lot of straighteners straighten but still leave me with frizz, but this one doesn't. It's VERY expensive, but I got mine at a booth at the local mall. I haggled and got a good deal, $100 instead of the market price of about $200-250. They like to give discounts to poor students. But it's a great investment. There is also a lifetime warranty on your product as well. It's worth the buy.I need the best ceramic hair straightener?
The Sedu, FHI, and GHD are all great quality irons. The Solia I've heard does not work as well after a year or so.. and the CHI leaves my hair with split ends and is damaging!

I own the Sedu and it is one of the most amazing flat irons I've ever used.. it leaves my hair shiny, soft, every single time. I don't think I can live without it! It has titanium, tourmaline, and ceramic plates which works together to give your hair the shine, softness and also helps reduce the damage thats being done by the heat.

The GHD.. I've known people who love it and it's supposedly one of the best out there as well.. I haven't tried it myself.

As for the FHI, there is a 100% ceramic flat iron you can find on websites such as beautychoice.com. They have video reviews up there for you to watch.. it's called the FHI Runway Iron.

Just remember to use a heat protection spray and look for irons that are at least ceramic and tourmaline, and titanium.

Also, through trial and error, I've learned that the highest temperature isn't suitable for everyone.. when I lowered the temperature on my Sedu, i got better results.
corioliss. my mom bought it for my lil sister. her hair is nappy curly. it straightens good and it gives it a good SHINE!! my mom bought it at the mall for only like $90 dollars? it works good though. because i use it too as a flat iron? (i have straight hair) but when i take a shower at night and wake up in the morning it is all wavy and it looks dry and damaged (it really isnt) after i use this its all shiny [healthy shiny not greasy shiny] it makes my hair all soft too. oh and when you straighten your hair, it stays for about 5-6 days (if you dont wash though)
The best ceramic hair straightener will be CHI hair straightener.
