I am travelling to London later this month, and of course, would like to maintain smooth hair while there! I've taken appliances abroad before and have always had very bad luck. Can anyone recommend either a) an inexpensive straightener that I can just purchase over there or 2) a battery powered straightener or 3) a really good US/UK adapter?
It's been almost 7 years since my last trip, so maybe adapters have gotten better since then?

We use 230 volts AC so if yours will not work on that voltage the cheapest place to look are Argos and Supadrug. There are loads of these stores in London and they usually have some special offers on products
