Yes there will be a contact number in the instructions, you will be able to call them up and arrange for the product to be returned.
They will probably test them to determine if theres a fault and if there is they will eiither fix it or send you a new set.Bought some Ghd (expensive) hair straighteners, can i return them if they're not heating up enough?
Sale of goods act,
says they should be fit for purpose and of merchantable quality,
i.e. should do the job, and last/not break
As you have a previous model that worked fine.
you now have a later model, and it is not comparable...
There would seem to be a design fault, certainly a change that has not met your expectations as being suitable for the job,
Under the sale of goods act, the contract is with the shop that sold them, not the manufacturer (even though they may offer a warrenty over the top of the SoG act). The manufacturer should however, be happy to hear your feedback - especially if you present it positively as such. i,.e. disappointed that their latest version does not live up to the standards set by their previous product.
