Can hair straightener be also used to curl hair?

A sales person at the mall told me that some straighteners do both, she even curled my very straight hair, it stayed curly on the next day. I'm not sure if it's healthy for the hair though...Can hair straightener be also used to curl hair?

You buy one thing and you can use it for straighting and curling your hair. It's excellent then. It saves money too.
