What is the best hair straightener?

I would like to have smooth shiny hair but my straightener just isn't cutting it! i wake up at 6.45 for school and it takes me almost 20 minutes to straighten my hair and it isnt even curly!! its a little bit wavy in the back and the rest of my hair is kind of doing its own thing like curling in and flippin way out here and there! its pretty fugly lol. but my straighten is a GVP from Sally's Beauty Supply. It doesnt straighten my thick resiliant hair that well, it mostly just makes it dry and burnt smelling and later in the day my roots get greasy from i guess getting it too hot. its just a crappy mess and im tired of dealing with it. please give me some good tips on straighteners that are worth my money!!!What is the best hair straightener?
listen to these people and get a CHI! it works soooooo amazingly I have like exactly the same hair type as you I also think it is pretty fugly lol. I bought my CHI 1'' ceramic flat iron on the internet which was much cheaper. It makes your hair soo soft and silky, without the damage. Also with this straightener you can curl your hair really easily, better then with a curling iron, so if you do get sick of it being so smooth and straight then you can make it curly. Okay well I've got to say I've had this same problem since 7th grade, and finally now that I'm a sophomore in hs my best friend recommended this straightener to me. It's called Andis Ceramic Clamp Flat Iron.

I personally feel that Chi straighteners work the best. It comes out straighter and stays straighter longer. Also, Matrix iron smoother spray works really well when you straighten your hair. It keeps my hair from becoming frizzy.

Also, if your hair is leaving that smell, STOP using the straightener. First of all, do NOT use the straightener every day. It will burn and fry your hair, leaving it disgusting.
